SATSA is the voice of Inbound Tourism and is a non-profit membership-based tourism industry association. White Shark Projects have been members of SATSA since 2006. SATSA currently represents over 1,100 inbound tourism products across Southern Africa. This association offers a wide range of services and products across the tourism value chain.
SATSA’s logo is a mark to indicate credible tourism products in Southern Africa and is highly recognised tourism board. All SATSA members have been fully audited to the highest of standards when it comes to safety, insurance compliance and codes of conduct.
Fair Trade Tourism is one of Africa’s leading non-profit organisations dedicated to using tourism to create better places to live, work and visit. It is a way of doing business that adapts the ‘conventional’ tourism business model. This model is often extractive and burdensome for the destination. FTT ensures that the people who contribute to their land, resources, labour, and knowledge to tourism are the ones who reap the benefits.
The natural environment on which it all depends is treated with respect in pursuit of more resilient destinations. White Shark Projects are proud members of FTT since 2015 and continue to align our ethical values and morals to their same principles.
Skål is a professional organisation of tourism leaders around the world, promoting global tourism and friendship. White Shark projects won the SKAL international Eco Tourism Award back in 2017 and have been members since 2010. The Sustainable Tourism Awards were launched by Skål International following the United Nations declaration of 2002 as the Year of Ecotourism and the Mountains thus acknowledging best practices around the globe. Skål, as an international organisation of the industry leaders, is a powerful force in the travel and tourism industry.
They initiate change and encourage the conservation of the environment to promote tourism and travel. The awards presented on these grounds, also serve the purpose of acquainting the world with this new concept. It also puts emphasis on the importance of the interaction of the physical, cultural, and social environment the traveller’s responsibility and the need for active community participation for Sustainability.
White Shark Projects have been members of ATTA since 2021. They are leading tourism trade body for Africa, recognising the significant responsibility and opportunity to develop and manage tourism. They do this in ways which conserve and enhance the wellbeing of Africa’s environments, cultures, and local communities by appreciating that these are the essential components of successful, sustainable tourism.

Women In Tourism started prior to 2020 but only got back on its feet in 2023. Jessica Smit is the women representing White Shark Projects at all the tourism events and is a true leader when it comes to empowering women in tourism. The purpose of this organisation is to raise the profile of women in tourism through education, empowerment, and growth. It provides women with the respect, recognition, and representation of what they deserve.

White Shark Projects have been members of Cape Town Tourism since 2021. Cape Town Tourisms website has a wealth of knowledge that any traveller can find informative when looking where to visit in South Africa. When you visit our beautiful mother city it is vital that you are aware of how to make a positive impact whilst travelling in our region and CTT can assist you in doing so. The Mayor of Cape Town has released a safety app called ‘The City of Cape Town Mobile App’. The app became live for all visitors to Cape Town on the 20th July 2023. Downloading this App is a safe way to find out the latest news and what is happening right here and now in our mother city. Cape Town is holding the record for being the most visited city in the world. People visit us once but just continue to come back time and time again as the magic and adventure that awaits you.

Recently in 2022 when White Shark Projects opened its second Recycling Swop Shop Glenda Kitty was at the forefront of making this happen. We officially partnered with Gansbaai Tourism who offered much support and hard work during our official opening. Discover a wonderland of things to do that include access to pristine beaches, ancient caves, marine tours, and a magnificent mirage of fynbos mountain trails to explore however you prefer.
The friendly team at the Gansbaai Tourism Bureau are best equipped to inform you of where to go and what to do. They are a trusted entity in our humble community with a tight team of proficient tourism leaders. Visiting their Information centre based at Spar shopping centre in Gansbaai is worth a visit. Pick up some brochures and chat to the team. The wonders of Gansbaai awaits you, this truly is a hidden gem.
Each year thousands of domestic and international tourists flock to the shores of the gorgeous coastal town, Hermanus.
