Here in Gansbaai we are lucky to be situated only an hour away from the southernmost tip of the African continent at Cape Agulhas. As well as being the southernmost tip of Africa, the International Hydrographic Organization have also determined the area the meeting point for the Indian and Atlantic Ocean.
Cape Agulhas offers spectacular scenery with a dramatic coastline and the unique fynbos vegetation found in the Western Cape. In addition, the area offers historical sites such as the Cape Agulhas Lighthouse (the second oldest working lighthouse in South Africa) and even the remains of the Meisho Maru shipwreck.
If you are planning on visiting Cape Agulhas why not contact the local Tourism Office for more information.
How about using the picturesque town of Gansbaai as a base for adventures in the Western Cape. For more information contact Gansbaai Tourism!
