September 2009

September has been a month with howling south easter winds, followed by roaring north western winds, resulting in close to twenty trips having to be cancelled.  Even though it was tempting to some days take a chance, as we were really missing the sharks, and some of our clients were just begging us to take them to the island, we rather stayed on shore, as the safety and comfort of you, our clients are paramount.  For those of you that unfortunately missed this experience, we do hope you will be back to come and visit soon.

16 July - 21 July

A RECORD! Today was a personal best for me with 23 sharks on anchor and another 3 whilst navigating around the island. One shark was swimming around on the surface, another one was around a cage floating near the island and the last one, around 3 metres in length was seen swimming around in Shark Alley waiting for an unsuspecting seal snack to swim by. It is so nice to observe sharks swimming naturally in the channel with no chum or bait in the water, it’s as natural as you can get. Read More
