Healing powers of the great white - Adrian Hewitt (408 KB)
This summer season in Jouberts Dam has provided me with the opportunity to identify many individual animals assigning names to most and getting familiar with their individual behavioural traits.
Summer Sharks vs Winter Sharks (237 KB)
Great white sharks in South Africa have distinct localised seasonal migration patterns. Typically in the summer months running from August through February, large (4.0 metre) females and small (< 2.5 metre) juvenile specimens frequent inshore areas such as Joubert’s Dam in Gansbaai. Males are present but are much less frequently observed with a sex ratio 90: 10 (Females: Males). Intermediate size classes are rare.
